Wuhan, China —On May 12, 2019, the School’s Student Union held a road show at the HUST main campus to promote balanced diet for the National Nutrition Week. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Public Relations and Department of Arts of the student union, and was well received by the audience.
In the early morning, with the help from the 2018 grade students, the event started on time despite the very hot and humid weather. The road show included knowledge quiz, experience sharing, and gift distribution etc., with the aim to improve the students’ knowledge about healthy dietary habits and to promote the consumption of fruit, vegetables, legume, and dairy products.
“Healthy Hubei, Nutrition First”. This year is the fifth National Nutrition Week, which was from May 12 to 19. 2019 is also the first year when the Hubei Province began the Hubei Province’s Implementing Schemes on National Nutrition Programs (2018~2030). Our road show was part of the whole province’s activities for the National Nutrition Week under the guidance of the Hubei Province Health Commission, Wuhan Municipal Health Commission, Hubei Nutrition Society, Wuhan Nutrition Association and Hubei Key Laboratory of Food Nutrition and Safety.
